Work With Us
Our firm represents individuals in cutting-edge civil rights matters, including employment discrimination, students' rights, free speech, and criminal defense cases. We are dedicated to developing the next generation of legal talent. We work on difficult and novel legal issues on behalf of our clients, and work to ensure that our associates are prepared to meet this challenge in every aspect of their case work. As a result, our associates engage in substantive legal work as soon as they join the firm, including direct client engagement from day one and being integrally involved in all steps of litigation, such as taking and defending depositions, representing clients in evidentiary hearings, legal and strategic planning, and arguing dispositive motions and appeals.
Our case work often involves providing meaningful representation to individuals during crises in their personal or professional lives. In our criminal work, we are committed as a firm to serving indigent defendants and devote a substantial portion of our criminal practice to appointed state and federal trial and appellate work. We also do extensive pro bono work in a variety of areas related to civil rights issues and support our associates' participation in these endeavors.
Creating and supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment matters: to us, to our clients, and to the work we do for them. We work in a collaborative environment in our cases where cases are staffed with teams, including partners, associates, and paralegal staff, and where each team member has a valued and critical role in advocating for our clients. We encourage you to apply for open positions or reach out to our hiring team at resume@zalkindlaw.com if you believe you would be a good fit for the firm, even if you don't believe you meet every one of our qualifications as described.
